It has already been noted how Submarines punish open water gameplay and CVs punish island hugging gameplay, the result is Surface ships not having a way to "geographically" disengage from one threat without falling into the proverbial "jumping from the frying pan into the fire". Submarines and CVs don't synergize wellīeyond their own inter-class interaction issues (which are significant), having both Submarines and CVs operating on the same match makes for a wide spectrum counter to everything. Even more, Submarine + CV Divisions shouldn't be allowed (See next topic).ģ. As in the case of CVs, only one Submarine should be allowed per Division. The homing/ping mechanic doesn't scale well when used in coordinated overlap, while a single Ping source threat is workable, multiple coordinated Ping sources are overpowering. This tools could possibly be SONAR (long range/all depths detection) and Homing Decoys.Ģ. It is my opinion it is required a significant rebalance of T10 Submarine capabilities and the inclusion of new and more powerful/deadly ASW tools exclusive for T10 (given that even T8 Subs perform more comfortably at T10 thatn at their own T8). on the contrary, the environment turns comparatively easier on top of the increased performance of Submarines: Ships become bigger and clumsier (easier to ping and torp), Maps tend to be bigger with more open areas (favoring Sub operation), Submarine concealment becomes comparatively better (few T10 DDs match Sub concealment, meanwhile a lot of meta T8 DDs match or outspot T8 Subs), More static and deadly meta makes rushing Subs more difficult. Submarine "Challenges" don't scale accordingly to Submarine capabilities, at T10 Submarines are at the peak of their performance (as most other ship types) but this is not correlated and counterbalanced by a more complex and riskier environment. Instead of being the apex of Sub progression, with more complex and challenging gameplay, it is the opposite. Submarine progression is working backwardsĬurrently, T10 is by far the easiest, more comfortable and simplest tier to play Submarines.

I just want to bring light to some tangential issues.ġ. With the present Submarine test cycle nearing to its end, I feel most of what needed to be said has already been said.
